The History & The Now

I was a creative far before Abolith came into being. I started banging on my dad’s piano when I was four or five, studied saxophone in middle and high school, as well as whatever other classical instrument people handed to me, and after graduation began playing with strings like guitar and bass. In 2020, after four years of studying music production and composition, I decided to take it more seriously and took up the moniker “Abolith”.

The music grew from simple pieces into much more involved and experimental work, using a variety of audio processing techniques and equipment to produce sounds that take on a life of their own. I began adding video to my music by early 2021 with the addition of performance videos, tone pieces, and eventually short films.

Today: I work in a handful of applications. While music is still always at the core, I have taken on the roles of writer, director, editor, cinematographer. If there’s something to do then there’s a good chance I’ve worn the hat at least once. Between my full-time job working in residential design, my work on personal projects, and my proudest role of husband and pet dad: I also take on contract work to keep bringing back finances for Abolith to continue funding itself.
