An Unravelling Mind

It’s been over a week now since An Unravelling Mind released and we couldn’t be more happy with the response. We spent a significant amount of time working on the film: trying to decide on locations, planning, shooting, editing, and preparing for the release, and after such a long journey I’m beyond excited to be able to finally talk about it.

An Unravelling Mind is, first and foremost, a tonally-focused piece, being very dependent on sound design, music, and performance to carry its narrative. It follows a man as he gets lost in obsession and fear, and we wanted to convey that with a mix of strong imagery and sound. Ethan S. Berry, the lead actor of the film, is a very talented actor who took to the role and the camera naturally, and the Sauce Production crew worked with me to create what became a very polished and refined set of visuals, with Berry in the forefront.

Post-production was done in-house for the Whales, and being so was on my shoulders for the editing and sound work, something that took much time and thought, but resulted in a very engaging experience that has had a very warm reception in its audience. We’re so beyond grateful to everyone who has watched and commented on the film; people having resonated with our work is the greatest achievement we could aim for.

If you have not yet had a chance to see the film, you can find it over on the Whales Don’t Dream YouTube page or here on our website in our Gallery. Give it a watch and a listen, best seen with good speakers in a dark room.

Thanks so much for stopping by and reading, and we’ll see you in our next update.
